Bulgaria, new york, band biog

we haven't been very proactive on the old band blog because we've been all over the shop. The boys have been in Bulgaria helping our good friend Joe Parker record his new album (which is going to be amazing) and i've been in new york just wandering round checking out the sites and i LOVED IT. i think i might move there when i grow up/get rich. people are so happy there and just rap at ya as you're walking down the street. and i got called a "home girl" a few times. I like being a home girl but i'm not entirely sure what it means? Does it mean you stay at home if you're a girl? or does it mean they like me and want to take me to their home to be their girl? well whatever it means I'm glad that I am one. I think. gonna post some photos up in a bit and I think Wade will be posting some of his amazing photos of bulgaria up too.

Anyway I wanted to let you know that we have a brand new band biog to accompany our brand spanking new album and you can read it here

http://www.thomastantrum.co.uk/2011/03/30/read-our-new-biog/

it might be a bit premature because you haven't heard the album yet but it kind of explains the story of how the album came about/was written.
see ya soon ma homies (in an american accent)

New RAC remix and other stuff

hiyarrr

so we received a new remix for "sleep" today and it's up here now and available to download

http://rcrdlbl.com/artists/Thomas_Tantrum/music

what do you think of it? i think it's a smasher. got a kind of Cure "close to me" vibe.

so it's a rainy day here in southampton which is my favourite weather ever and it's making me happy. The boys have all vamooshed off to Bulgaria to record on Joe Parker's new album and I have just received the mastered version of our new album so I'm going to put my headphones on and go for a long walk. Maybe stop in at some charity shops and find some treats. I'm off to the Big Apple on tuesday and I just can't wait. It will be my first time in America. Any tips for places to visit? I think I will be staying in Williamsburg but I'm not sure yet because I've still not booked any hotels.

Anyway let me know what you think of the RAC remix

A warm welcome, our new single video and free gigs this week

Hi everyone,

This is the first mailing list email from us to you! First of all thanks everyone for signing up and we hope you really enjoyed the Birdsong EP we gave away over Christmas. You can still download it now, so tell your friends by sending them the link http://www.thomastantrum.co.uk/

Since then we have made a music video for our new forthcoming single "Sleep" which is going to be released March 27th. You can watch the music video by clicking here.

It's a kind of tongue-in-cheek take on the song and involved spending hours sitting on an office chair pretending to be on a rollercoaster made out of bed carriages. Pretty random.

When "Sleep" is released to download on March 27th, it'll come with two new b-sides called "It's Like Drums" and "Children Of The Night", plus remixes from Band Of Skulls and RAC as well as an old school extended version.

Sleep and insomnia are recurring themes which run throughout the album; that of dusk, dreaming, the moonlit soirée...

Keep an eye out on our official site, Facebook and YouTube as we’ll be posting video blogs in the coming weeks where you can hear more about where the songs from the album came from and stories from our recording sessions

Anyway, as for live performances, we are playing a show on Thursday this week, March 10th, at the Old Queen's Head in London and its free. If you want to come along, we'll be playing tracks from the new album "Mad By Moonlight" which is due to be released in June. It's been some time coming, but we're really happy with the album now and can't wait for it to be released. It’s more of an album this time round, as opposed to just a collection of songs. It's still a party album like the last one, but with more of a twilight vibe running through it (not in the vampire sense). Also playing at the show will be fellow Southamptoners Oresteia who are absolutely ace - you can check them out here: http://www.myspace.com/oresteiaband

In addition to this, we will be performing live acoustic versions of the songs at Oxfam Music in Southampton this coming Saturday, 12th March, this is a free gig and more details can found here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=195790307115728 It's an Oxjam event and we will be joined by other local talents.

Then on Sunday, we'll be playing a show in Asgard Tattoo Parlour also in Southampton, tickets are only £4.00 and more details can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196625120366382 So it's a whole weekend of music fun!

Hope you're all doing well and look forward to seeing you at some shows very soon.
